The child, an 11-year-old boy, was taken to Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis after Israeli combat vehicles opened fire on a tent housing internally displaced people in the al-Mawasi area, hospital sources said.
Further north, a woman was reportedly shot dead by Israeli soldiers near the Nuseirat refugee camp. And in Jabalia in northern Gaza, a man was hit in the head by drone fire.
The three deaths are confirmed by the area's civil defence, which also states that nine people were injured in the shelling.
