Four years after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the two countries are intensifying their long-range attacks, leading to a growing number of civilian casualties.
Two people were killed in a Russian drone strike in Kharkiv, which also destroyed four floors of an apartment building, according to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. Another 23 people were injured, according to the region's governor, Oleh Synehubov.
According to Zelenskyy, eight people were also injured overnight in Odesa, where attacks damaged the power grid, the port and residential buildings. Another nine people were reportedly injured in an attack on energy infrastructure near a shopping mall in Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region, according to the president.
Meanwhile, three people were killed and 25 injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on the Russian border region of Belgorod during the night to Sunday, local Russian authorities said.
According to the region's acting governor, Alexander Shovayev, Belgorod was attacked overnight by 16 drones, three of which were shot down. The Russian Defense Ministry also said air defenses shot down 153 Ukrainian drones overnight over 17 Russian regions, the Crimean Peninsula, and the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.
