Three junior hockey players have died after a crash in Alberta, Canada. A moment of silence was held before the NHL game between the Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs.

The accident occurred on Monday when the players were on their way to training and involved a truck carrying gravel and the players' car.

The truck driver, a 40-year-old man, was slightly injured in the accident. All three teenagers died at the scene.

"There are no words that can express the depth of our sorrow," the players' club, The Southern Alberta Mustangs, wrote in a statement.

At the team's ice rink, the players' jerseys and hockey sticks were laid out in honor of the deceased. Police are investigating the incident.
