According to the Kyiv Independent, Russia has reportedly used over 650 attack drones and 51 missiles against Ukraine during the night of Saturday. Explosions have been reported in Poltava, Lutsk, Odessa, Zaporizhia and Bila Tserkva in the Kiev region, among others. In total, 29 locations have been attacked.
Ukraine says it has shot down 585 drones and 30 missiles.
Reports from Kyiv indicate that three people have been injured.
"The main targets of these attacks were again energy facilities. Russia's goal is to cause suffering to millions of Ukrainians," President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on X.
Without water and heat
According to the president, a drone hit and burned down a railway station in Fastiv, a town about seventy kilometers southwest of Kiev, affecting train traffic.
Oleksiy Kuleba, the minister responsible for Ukraine's reconstruction, says that around 9,500 households in the Odessa region are without heat and 34,000 households without water after the attacks.
A thermal power plant is reported to have been seriously damaged, but for security reasons the company does not want to say which one. The electricity supply to the nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia is also said to have been affected, according to the Kyiv Independent.
Oil refinery attacked
At the same time, Russia's Defense Ministry stated that 116 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian territory during the night of Saturday, according to AP.
According to the Russian independent news service Astra, an oil refinery in Ryazan has been attacked. In a video sequence that has not been verified as authentic, thick smoke rises into the sky from a fire at the impact site.
Negotiations between the United States and Ukraine have been underway in Florida since US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the Kremlin on Tuesday for talks about a possible peace settlement.
