The suspected murderer's lawyer Sabina Saidi, who, like the prosecutor, attended Monday's detention hearing at Uppsala District Court via link, claimed that her client denies the allegations against him.

We claim that there are no probable grounds, Saidi said in court.

Identity kept secret

A short while later, the man was detained by Uppsala District Court, which believes that he is on probable grounds suspected of murder in three cases.

The man, who according to the Prosecution Authority is in his 20s, was arrested during the night against Friday last week. Despite being detained, the court kept his identity secret, something that has become increasingly common in Sweden.

Three other people, two men in their 20s and one person under 18, were requested to be detained on Monday, suspected of aiding and abetting murder.

One of them, a man in his 20s, was released on bail by the district court.

On the other hand, the person under 18, suspected on probable grounds of aiding and abetting murder, was detained, reports UNT. The person denies the crime, says lawyer Anette Der Danielian to the newspaper.

Later on Monday, a detention hearing was pending for the fourth person.

More suspects

Three other people who had been arrested in the case were released on bail over the weekend. They are three men aged 25, 35, and 45, respectively. However, the investigation against the men, who were arrested for incitement to murder last week, is ongoing, according to the prosecutor.

It was at 5 pm on Tuesday last week that the police were alerted to a shooting near Vaksala Square in central Uppsala. Inside a hair salon, three people between 15 and 15 and 20 were found shot dead. A boy was a student at a primary school and another at a high school in the city, according to Uppsala Municipality.
