Three people have been killed and 16 injured in a Ukrainian drone attack on the Crimean peninsula, according to the Moscow-appointed governor Sergey Aksyonov on Telegram.
According to Russia, the tourist destination Foros was the target of the attack. A hospital and a school building are claimed to have been damaged, but there is no independent information to confirm this. Parts from the downed drone are also said to have caused a fire in the coastal city of Yalta. According to the Ministry of Defense, 114 Ukrainian drones have been shot down over several regions.
At the same time, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyi states on X that several regions have been attacked with over 140 Russian drones during the night.
In the southeastern city of Zaporizhzhia, air bombs targeted civilian residential buildings, according to Zelenskyi. Three people are said to have been killed in the attacks. Two people are also said to have been injured, according to Ivan Fedorov, the head of the military administration in the region.
"In Sumy (region), a bread factory, a school and a kindergarten have been damaged", Zelenskyi writes.
The southern peninsula of Crimea was annexed illegally by Russia in 2014.
