Three people have died in a fire at Mariensjukhuset in the German city of Hamburg, according to German authorities and the news agency DPA on Sunday morning.
Over 30 people have been injured in the fire. A 72-year-old patient is suspected of having started the fire.
The fire broke out on a ward specialized in caring for elderly people, located on the hospital's ground floor. Then the flames spread to the first floor. Over 160 firefighters participated in the extinguishing work.
The deceased were all over 84 years old.
