Three Bulgarians have been convicted of being part of a British-based spy ring that targeted journalists and shared sensitive information with Russia for several years.
The three individuals, based in London, have been convicted by a British court after a trial that lasted for more than three months.
They spied on people and places "of interest to the Russian state", according to the British prosecution authority CPS.
The espionage took place between August 2020 and February 2023.
The sentences are expected to be announced in May, and they risk up to 14 years in prison.
They were all part of a spy ring with six Bulgarians, which, among other things, monitored an American military base in Germany.
