"We have had many incidents at the same time due to strong winds," Sebastian Wigmo, press spokesperson for the Swedish Maritime Administration, told TT.

Several children from a sailing school who were sailing off Resarö, outside Vaxholm, ended up in the water on Tuesday evening. The children were helped to get to land, reports TV4 Nyheterna.

A sailing school outside Nacka was also affected by the strong winds. A number of children and young people ended up in the water when a number of optimist dinghies capsized. The children were helped out of the water.

A number of trees were also blown down during the storm. In Uppsala, a car was hit, Upsala Nya Tidning reports. No one was injured.
