The children, who belong to a sailing school, were sailing off Resarö outside Vaxholm on Tuesday evening when the weather changed rapidly and it became windy, and they had to be rescued, reports TV4 Nyheterna.
Up at Resarö, the children are secure but the boats are still out on the water, says Lars Antonsson, air rescue leader at the Sea and Air Rescue Service, to the TV channel.
Children at a sailing school in Nacka also received help getting to shore due to the weather, according to Lars Antonsson.
In Uppsala, the storm brought down trees in several places, including one that hit a car, Upsala Nya Tidning reports. No one was injured.
