The police in Malmö suspect that three people have subjected a girl to two serious crimes.
One of the crimes is aggravated rape of a child. A man has been detained. The other is a crime against the law prohibiting female genital mutilation. Two more people have been detained, says Nils Norling, the police's press spokesperson in Malmö.
According to Aftonbladet, which was the first to report on the case, it was doctors who suspected rape and genital mutilation after a relative sought emergency care for a child.
Nils Norling does not want to comment on the case further since an investigation is ongoing.
The only thing I can say is that the reports were filed recently.
