A man who wrote that the editors-in-chief of Flamman and Dagens ETC should be hanged is now being convicted of unlawful threats, writes Dagens Nyheter.
The man wrote in October 2023 on the platform X, formerly Twitter, that "all those who were involved in the Israel affair" should be hanged and that this also applied to Leonidas Aretakis and Andreas Gustavsson, editors-in-chief of Flamman and Dagens ETC respectively.
The two editors-in-chief reported the threat to the police. Södertörn's district court now rules in its judgment that the act is "at prison level" since those threatened are journalists. The man is, however, given a conditional sentence, along with 40 day-fines of 190 kronor, since he is previously unpunished.
