Colombia is also very sick, ruled by a sick man who likes to manufacture cocaine and sell it to the United States," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One, according to the BBC.
He won't be doing it for much longer," he continued, referring to Colombian President Gustavo Petro.
When asked if the United States might intervene militarily in Colombia, Trump replied, "It sounds good to me."
The move is the latest in the recent conflict between the US and Colombia. In September, Trump removed Colombia from the list of allies in the fight against drugs, and the following month he announced that all aid to Colombia would be ended, while also calling Petro a "drug lord."
Petro, who has criticized US intervention in Venezuela, rejects Trump's claims about drug trafficking.
"Stop slandering me, Trump," he wrote on X.
