Parts of northern and central Sweden woke up to widespread devastation on Sunday, and over 40,000 customers in the worst-affected areas were without power.
Electricity companies have been working to restore power, but as of Monday at 7 a.m., over 15,000 customers of Ellevio, Eon and Vattenfall were still without power.
The worst-affected is Gävleborg County, with over 9,000 customers without power, followed by Västernorrland with over 4,000.
Vattenfall and Eon write on their websites that Johannes's rampage caused major damage to the companies' electricity networks.
According to Ellevio, the work to restore power in Gävleborg is progressing more slowly than normal due to "extreme amounts" of fallen trees.
Thousands of trees fell during the storm. Three people are reported to have died.
