Thousands of people who played the lottery game Eurojackpot received news on Friday evening that they had become millionaires, reports Sveriges Radio Ekot.
But the joy was short-lived.
Due to a calculation error from euros to Norwegian kronor, thousands received news that they had won even though they only had a few numbers correct. Instead of small wins, they received news of a winnings amount that was 10,000 times too high.
The equivalent of Svenska Spel – Norsk Tipping – has apologized.
