Six people were arrested last week at Värmlands district court, suspected of illegal manufacture and sale of, among other things, weight loss preparations.
According to the Medical Products Agency, it is about a criminal network that has manufactured medicines in an abandoned cottage and then sold them through about a dozen websites. The sale is estimated to have amounted to millions of kronor.
”There are obvious risks to health from injecting these preparations and it is important that the authorities now get the tools to reverse this trend”, says Lena Björk, director of supervision at the agency, in a press release.
