A state of disaster was declared in Bangkok on Saturday after days of heavy, persistent rain caused widespread flooding. The Meteorological Agency of Thailand said heavy to moderate rain was expected to continue throughout the day, but conditions were expected to improve on Monday.
More than 200 shelters have been set up in Bangkok, and around 3,000 people were still staying in them on Sunday.
In 25 other provinces, more than half a million people have been affected, especially in the central and eastern parts of the country. At least eight people have been reported dead in connection with the floods in the past ten days.
