Film director and animator Niki Lindroth von Bahr's short film "The End" was nominated for the Palme d'Or at Cannes but fell short. Now she can take solace in the Falstaff Prize, which she says feels "completely surreal."
"Suddenly I can stop for a moment and actually think about what I want to use my time for instead of just chasing next month's rent. It's an unimaginable luxury," she says in a press release.
"It's a fantastic prize to receive!" agrees Karl Dunér, theater and opera director and visual artist, who has been recognized for, among other things, "The Garbage Heap" at the Orion Theater, a work based on text fragments from a 2,000-year-old garbage heap in Oxyrhynchos.
