Two group stage matches on SVT, but a treat Sweden-Netherlands on Midsummer's Day on TV4. Now the TV channels have divided up Sweden's – possible – matches in the World Cup.

SVT and TV4 are sharing the broadcasts of the men's World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA this summer. The national team must go through the playoffs in March to even make it to the tournament, but the TV channels have already selected matches in the group stage.

SVT will broadcast Sweden's possible opening match against Tunisia on June 15 in Monterrey and the final match against Japan on June 26 in Dallas. In between, TV4 will broadcast Sweden–Netherlands, which will be played at 7:00 PM on Midsummer's Day, June 20 in Houston.

TV4 will also broadcast the opening match between Mexico and South Africa at the classic Azteca Stadium in Mexico City on June 11.

For TV4's commentator Lasse Granqvist, a World Cup in North America means a dear reunion.

"I was there and commented on the magical summer of football in North America 32 years ago. I am now looking forward to a new football celebration this summer when the biggest World Cup in history will be played. We are now keeping our fingers crossed that we will also get Sweden involved," he says in a press release.
