In Thursday's episode of "Married at First Sight" on SVT, the three remaining couples finally had to reveal whether they wanted to continue as married couples.
There were three divorces and since one couple had already gone their separate ways earlier in the fall, the season ended with all four marriages collapsing.
“Ordinary people”
Symptomatic of a round where the participants have had to struggle hard with their relationships.
"Many people say it's been a tough season. I just see it as showing that it's really ordinary people who wanted to be part of an experiment and not some characters who are there because they want to make good TV," says Tobias Branning, whose marriage to Hampus Samuelsson ended.
However, he does not think that the experts who paired the participants did a good enough job.
My feeling is that they've gone a lot of "opposite attraction". And that might not work so well in this type of experiment. I guess everyone needs some kind of security.
No regrets
Yet he doesn't regret his participation. It has brought so much else, including a better relationship with his father and the rest of his family – and he is in a better place in life.
I feel much more secure and confident in myself and who I am. Now I'm in a place I probably never thought I'd get to. And I wouldn't have gotten to this quickly without this experiment.
Tobias Branning kept in touch with his ex-husband Hampus Samuelsson from Smögen and at the end of this week's episode he plucks up the courage and shows up in Bohuslän. By then, several months have passed since the breakup.
–I started to wonder if there was more to build on, that I had been too caught up in my own emotions. So that was the reason I went up to him.
