Those celebrating someone else's graduation are expected to account for 1.4 billion kronor, while the students themselves are estimated to spend around 400 million kronor on products related to the celebration.
This year's students plan to spend a median amount of SEK 5,000 on student-related products such as student caps and student clothing.
Household items are the most common student gifts, followed by money or gift cards and flowers. According to the Swedish Chamber of Commerce, this is in line with students' wishes - with items for the home topping the wish list.
