Finnish Henna Virkkunen is the first out when the completely new EU Commission is now to start delivering on its promises of new heavy political proposals.
Virkkunen – vice chair and commissioner for technological independence, security and democracy – will already next Wednesday, December 11, present a report on how hybrid threats are to be met and security strengthened at the EU's external borders.
According to the new EU Commission's first preliminary calendar, then, among other things, a "competitiveness compass" is expected from Chair Ursula von der Leyen on January 15, 2025, a "vision" for future agricultural policy on February 19, and two packages on clean industry and regulatory simplifications on February 26.
