When Smash Into Pieces makes their own interpretation of Måns Zelmerlöw's winning song "Heroes", it becomes like "an electric flash". At least according to the band members themselves.
The cover is part of Spotify's project where artists are invited to record songs in the company's studio. Smash Into Pieces says in a press release that they loved "Heroes" when it came out, but they interpret it in their own way.
"If Måns' version is a beam of light, then our version is an electric flash", says Per Bergquist from the band.
Zelmerlöw won the European Championship with the song in 2015, which means it is celebrating its ten-year anniversary this year and to date has over 160 million streams on Spotify. Smash Into Pieces got their big breakthrough with "Six feet under" in Melodifestivalen 2023.
The song is available for listening from today.
