Sofie Cassman Eklöf said yes to Emilia Blomqvist after a "GVFÖ" journey with both peaks and valleys.

Tired of dating apps, she applied to the show to find love. The time in front of the cameras was like an "emotional pressure cooker" where everything happened at a furious pace.

"They say it's the equivalent of a six-month relationship compressed into five weeks, and it was significantly more intense than I thought," says Sofie Cassman Eklöf.

Fair chance

However, when it came time for the final decision, it felt right to say yes. Sofie Cassman Eklöf wanted to explore the relationship fully on her own, without the constant presence of the production.

"I wanted to give it an honest chance outside of the show, without cameras and stress and pressure. It's a completely different thing to be able to date in real life and be able to talk in a different way," she says.

However, she believes that her own "yes" may come as a surprise to viewers, partly based on how the program is edited.

"There's an incredible amount of filming that then ends up on TV, and a lot is cut to fit the story the production wants to present. But I wanted to give this a real and honest chance, together with Emilia," she says.

Even for Emilia Blomqvist, "Married at First Sight" was a roller coaster.

"I thought the part about being matched with a stranger was just fun and exciting. But it's only when the season starts airing that you understand what it means to be on TV," she says.

A bit into the season, she read mean comments about herself, something that clearly hurt:

"It's self-destructive to read what people write. But unfortunately I did, and then it didn't feel fun anymore."

Positive experience

But now, toward the end of the season, Emilia Blomqvist wants to thank all the viewers who have said kind things about her and Sofie.

"I get stopped on the street, at the gym and on the tram all the time. People come up and just say, 'I don't want to bother you, I just want to say you're the best.' So now I only have a positive experience again," she says.
