The Swedish Labour Court (AD) has run out of money. The state has not provided the necessary funds that the court needs to operate, it was announced the other day. All non-urgent cases are now being suspended, the court announced.
"This is a development that is extremely serious for employers, employees and for the labor market in general," write the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, SKR, LO, Saco and TCO in a joint letter to the government.
The social partners are demanding that AD receive more money from the government. Long processing times are harmful.
"For employers, this means increased costs and long-term uncertainty, which has negative consequences for the business, while employees have to live under a pressing and stressful uncertainty for an increasingly long time," they write in the letter.
Minister of Labor Johan Britz (L) tells the Althingi that the court should receive more money:
The labor court should obviously not have to dismiss the case.
