18-year-old Tara Babulfath won a bronze medal in the 48-kilo class at the Olympic Games in Paris, thereby ending judo's Olympic medal drought. She also won a bronze at the World Championship, which took place in Abu Dhabi in May.

Lucas Bergvall celebrated his 18th birthday in a very special way – by signing a five-year contract with Premier League team Tottenham. The price tag, reportedly over 113 million kronor, made the sale to Djurgården's largest of all time.

Vanessa Kamga, 25, was selected for the Olympic Games in Paris as a future star. There, she set a Swedish record (65.14) in the discus qualification – and charmed the audience when she finished as a radiant fifth in the final.

Jakob Söderqvist is Sweden's future star in cycling – just two years after he started with road cycling. The 21-year-old won a silver at the U23 World Championship in September, and was also present at the Olympic Games, where he participated in the 28-mile long road race.

The Sports Gala's nomination period runs from November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2024.
