The nominations should not only be seen as recognition, but the buildings are also considered "guides to the future," according to jury chairwoman Rebecka Engvall.
This year's nominated buildings are designed by Tengbomgruppen, Wingårdh arkitektkontor, Marge Arkitekter and Jordens Arkitekter. The jury chose from around 100 submitted entries and visited around 20. The winner will be announced at the Architecture Gala on 26 March in Skellefteå.
The prize is awarded by the Swedish Society of Architects and goes to a building "of high architectural quality".
