Johaug made a comeback last autumn after a break of over two years, but has several times stated that the comeback only applied to one season. When the 36-year-old guest stars on the TV program "God Morgen Norge" on Norwegian TV2 on Monday morning, it sounds different.
It would have been very fun. I have never competed in an Olympic Games in Europe. But I also know that it's not just about doing an Olympic Games, you have to make an enormous effort, says Johaug on the TV program "God Morgen Norge" on Norwegian TV2.
The big goal for the comeback was the World Championship in Trondheim. But the dream of a new gold was crushed – Johaug took three silvers and a bronze – and perhaps the desire for revenge from there is enough for a new effort towards the Olympic Games.
When she ended her elite career for the first time, it was partly to become a mother. The family situation, however, does not seem to be an impossible obstacle. Her husband Nils Jakob Hoff is one of those trying to persuade her to do another season.
He really wants me to do the Olympic Games. He's giving me little nudges all the time. The other day, he formed Olympic rings out of some tomato cans, says Therese Johaug.
She has therefore promised to think it through.
I think my gut feeling will decide. I have to feel that I really want to do this. If my gut feeling isn't right, it won't be good, says Johaug.
