Therese Bohman is proud and happy about the prize, she says in a press release.
"It's such a fine confirmation that what you're doing actually means something, which can be easy to stop believing when you're stuck between books and mostly feel alone and disconnected from the world."
Therese Bohman debuted in 2010 with "The Drowned" and has been nominated for both the Nordic Council's Literature Prize and the August Prize for her books.
The Vi Prize has been awarded since 1947, to authors who have written at least two and a maximum of five fiction works for adults. The list of previous winners includes Gunnar Ekelöf, Sara Lidman, Astrid Lindgren, and Sara Stridsberg.
The prize amount is 50,000 kronor.
