Nuns and priests from all over the world gathered on Sunday outside the Gemelli hospital in Rome to pray and sing for Pope Francis. Flowers and candles with get-well wishes have also been left at the statue of the Pope's predecessor in front of the hospital.
I pray for him and his health, for he is a special person for all of us, said teacher Ilde Zito.
The Pope slept peacefully on Sunday night, the hospital reports.
The 88-year-old Pope's condition is considered critical as he has double-sided pneumonia. On Saturday, he suffered an asthma attack and is still receiving oxygen through his nose.
