The news agency AP still calls the bay in the Atlantic the Mexican Gulf – despite the US President Donald Trump changing the name to American Gulf.
Therefore, AP journalists are denied access to the Oval Office and flights on the presidential plane Air Force One, reports The Hill.
Journalists and photographers from the news agency will, however, retain their accreditation to other parts of the White House, writes the White House's deputy personnel chief Taylor Budowich in a statement on X.
The decision comes after reporters were denied access earlier in the week.
In addition to AP, other news outlets such as The New York Times and The Washington Post have also refused to change the name of the water south of the US. Fox News, on the other hand, has changed to Trump's designation.
