A vote on the resolution is expected to take place on Thursday, according to diplomatic sources to AFP. The purpose is said to be to pressure Iran to start following international regulations on nuclear energy and cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Tehran responds by condemning the sharply Iran-critical resolution. According to Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the letter will "only complicate the matter further".
On Saturday, Araghchi warned of "new measures in the nuclear program that will absolutely not be appreciated" if the resolution is passed.
IAEA chief Rafael Grossi visited enrichment facilities in Iranian Fordo and Natanz earlier in November and held several meetings in Tehran. Iran described Grossi's visit as "positive".
