The United States formally began negotiations with the 15-member Security Council last week. The latest draft of the resolution, unlike previous versions, mentions the possibility of forming a Palestinian state, according to AFP.
Along with several other countries, the United States urged member states on Friday to quickly adopt the resolution.
"The United States, Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Jordan and Turkey express our joint support for the resolution currently being considered by the Security Council," the countries said in a joint statement.
The peace plan for Gaza is behind the ceasefire between Israel and the terrorist group Hamas, which came into effect on October 10 of this year.
