Jennifer Kücükaslan would have to leave Viaplay.: "A punch in the gut"

During my Premier League season, the news came that football presenter Jennifer Kücükaslan would have to leave Viaplay. It felt like a punch to the gut, heavy and very sad, she says to Expressen.

The idea was that Kücükaslan would continue working as a presenter until the Premier League season ended in May, but she later received the message that she would have to leave already in February.

I don't like to do things halfway and would have liked to take the season to the finish, says Kücükaslan.

She has been working at Viaplay since 2014 in various roles, but has in recent years been a presenter. When the company acquired the rights to Champions League, she sensed that a change could occur.

I got a pretty early feeling that they wanted to go in a different direction and bet on something else and that it wasn't me. It became quite clear when we got Champions League that they didn't want me as a presenter, she says.

Viaplay's sports manager Erik Westberg writes in a message to Expressen:

"We are grateful for the years she was with us and we wish her good luck ahead. Otherwise, we have no comments. We do not comment on our employees or former employees."
