"We are very happy to be able to continue broadcasting, in principle, across the country," says Richard Mazeret, CEO of NRJ Sweden, in a press release.
The only region where NRJ did not receive a regional broadcasting license is Skåne.
NRJ has been broadcasting in Sweden since commercial radio channels were allowed in 1993. In February, the Swedish Media Authority decided instead to give one of three national licenses to Aftonbladet, which is starting a new channel. But NRJ not only broadcasts on the regular analog radio network but can also be heard digitally and online.
