The TV graphics showed that Spain's Alvaro Morata had received a yellow card and would therefore be suspended and miss the next match. But that will not be the case.
The Athletic writes that the European Football Association (Uefa) has confirmed that he was not warned. This means that Morata is available to play the European Championship semifinal against France on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old Morata has started all European Championship matches for Spain except for the insignificant last group stage match against Albania and has been team captain in all of them.
Spain, on the other hand, will be without two important cogs in the defense. Both Dani Carvajal, who received two yellow cards, and Robin Le Normand, who received a yellow card, are suspended for the semifinal.
Spain won Friday's quarterfinal against host nation Germany 2–1 after a late deciding goal in extra time by Mikel Merino.
