Last week, The Times reported that Infantino had received additional undisclosed pay from FIFA, a story that was widely circulated.
The Times has now apologized for the report, writing that expenses and reimbursements to Infantino do not need to be included in FIFA's annual report.
The British newspaper has also withdrawn its claim that the Swiss national had been allowed to buy property in Miami at a suspiciously low price. The Times also writes that its information that Infantino or any of his family members own the company Shadi LLC was incorrect.
"It is clear that there are coordinated attempts to undermine FIFA and its president," FIFA wrote in a press release.
