Society must get better at asking children questions to detect honor crimes, write Ulf Kristersson (M), Jimmie Åkesson (SD), Ebba Busch (KD), and Simona Mohamsson (L) in an Aftonbladet debate.
The party leaders want to introduce honor screening within the framework of student health and investigate the possibility of introducing it also within MVC, BVC and the asylum reception.
Through questions about, for example, control at home, compulsory veiling and the right to choose a partner, honor crimes should be detected early.
The questions should follow national guidelines and be supplemented with clear procedures for handling and collaboration with social services and other authorities.
According to Tidöledarna, estimates show that at least 200,000 children live under honor-based oppression in Sweden.
