The 19-year-old Kristianstad swimmer took two bronzes at the European Championship in the summer.
In her first long-distance championship as a senior.
Now it's time for her debut at the World Championship level in short distance.
It's going to be really fun and exciting. It would have been cool to reach some semifinal, a final would have been totally..., she says and stops without finishing the sentence.
Maybe she doesn't want to build up expectations too much.
Klint Ipsa will swim 100 and 200 meters breaststroke in Budapest and she notes that she likes long distance more than short distance.
There's a lot of starts and turns in short distance and it's not my strong side. But you can always train and get better at it, she says.
"Has something to do there"
Klint Ipsa's two bronze medals in the summer at the European Championship in Belgrade have meant a lot to her.
It was really cool to be able to do it at my first senior championship in long distance. It was cool to show up among the seniors. It has meant a lot, you feel more comfortable in this environment and that you have something to do there, she says.
National team captain Martina Aronsson sees high potential in Klint Ipsa in the future. But emphasizes that it requires hard work to get there.
The future is extremely bright for Olivia when she understands how good she can be. So you get in the hard work that's needed, says Martina Aronsson.
She has a unique ability in how she takes on the water. It's something that some have, but with her it's special, says Aronsson.
Moving to college
The 19-year-old is in her final year at the swimming gymnasium in Helsingborg and Klint Ipsa says that the future is mapped out – she has signed a contract with Washington State and starts college after the summer.
I'm going to try and see if it's something for me. What attracts me is getting to experience the USA, you get a good education and good training environment. It's very good conditions, she says.
The dream ahead is to win medals at the Olympic Games and World Championship. She was only 18 hundredths from qualifying for the Olympic Games in Paris on the 100 meters.
To get to the Olympic Games and experience everything there. To take a medal at the Olympic Games would have been really cool, she says.
