They defeated Australian home players Ben Hood and Oliver Merritt 21–15, 21–8.
But the first set was not easy as the Australians led by a couple of points.
They pull off a couple of really good serves there that create a few problems and then some stupid mistakes on top of that. We try not to stress ourselves out even if we make a few mistakes. The next ball is worth just as much, and you just have to chew on it and keep your patience up, and you know it will come if you focus properly, says Jacob Hölting Nilsson to SVT.
Hölting Nilsson, 20, and Elmer Andersson, 19, are making their first World Championship tournament at senior level in Adelaide. They have made a breakthrough this year and just a few weeks ago they won a World Tour competition in Cape Town.
It was of course super fun to get a win on the World Tour, it was a goal we had for the last half of the season. But it's not something we're thinking about now.
The Swedes will also face an English (the Bello brothers) and a French pair (Rotar/Gauthier-Rat) in the group stage.
It's a tough group. We've faced the English many times and had even matches against them, and the French know we're a really good team.
