Swedish breeding manager Anders Svanebo has left the Olympics in Italy and returned to Sweden due to illness.

"He is not feeling well. He had a fever when he came home to Sweden, so it was absolutely right of us to send him home," says national team manager Anders Byström, according to Expressen.

Svanebo was ill during the men's relay on Sunday. Deputy head of the paddock, Mattias Berglund, then took over the role, which he will continue going forward.

"We have had good material at this championship. It is easy to forget because of that race on Sunday, but I feel confident. Mattias is the assistant paddock manager, and he and Anders usually take turns at the World Cup. Sure, we are one person down, but we leaders help with ski tests and the like, so it will go well," says Byström.
