The exchange rate is now 9.40 kronor against the US dollar, and the krona has thus strengthened 17.79 percent this year against the currency, according to the Bloomberg news agency.
The Norwegian krone has also strengthened during the year and is up 12.66 percent against the US dollar.
The worst performers in the G10 group have been the Canadian dollar and the New Zealand dollar, also called the kiwi dollar, which have lost 4.1 and 3.25 percent respectively against the US dollar this year.
