Swedish Leo Carlsson started strong with a goal for his Anaheim in a thrilling match against Colorado. But after an overtime thriller, Anaheim saw themselves defeated with 3–4.

Former Örebro player Leo Carlsson, chosen as number two in the draft after Chicago's star Connor Bedard before last season, has started this season strongly. In Thursday's meeting, he scored the decisive 5–4 goal, and barely had the night's clash against Colorado begun before he scored 1–0 for Anaheim in front of the goal.

Teammate Ryan Strome extended to 2–0, but in the second and third periods, Anaheim's luck turned. Colorado scored three goals in a row.

In the last thrilling seconds of regular match time, Anaheim's Troy Terry equalized and the match went into a five-minute overtime. With 41 seconds left, Nathan MacKinnon scored the winning goal for Colorado.
