The satellite was manufactured by American company Planet Labs and was launched with the help of SpaceX in California on May 3, along with two other satellites.
Now, images from the satellites have been shared by Planet Labs for the first time, as reported by Expressen. They show, among other things, Gotland from an altitude of 515 kilometers.
In the coming years, about ten military satellites will be launched, some of them from Planet Labs and some from the Finnish manufacturer ICEYE.
Planet Labs will initially assist in the management of the satellite, but it will eventually be fully controlled by the defense forces. The plan is to be able to launch satellites from Esrange in Kiruna, but this is not currently possible.
