The Swedish Academy has awarded author Karolina Ramqvist the 2024 Signe Ekblad-Eldh Prize. The prize money is 140,000 kronor.
Ramqvist is most renowned for the novels "Girlfriend" from 2009 and 2022's "Bread and Milk", the latter a childhood portrayal of the author's great love for food.
The prize is awarded from the Signe Ekblad-Eldh Testamentary Foundation and is to be awarded to an outstanding literary author. Among the recent prize winners are Stewe Claeson, Lena Andersson and Eva Ström.
