Hildeby faced 29 shots and saved all of them as Toronto defeated Tampa Bay 2–0.
"It was a good win. (The goal) feels good. It's a puck you'll look back on at the end of your career," Hildeby said, according to nhl.com.
In Sweden, Hildeby played SHL ice hockey for Färjestad, but left to play full-time in Canada in 2023. This season, the Swede has impressed and in his last two games he has saved 62 of 63 shots.
In the opposing team Tampa Bay, Tre Kronor defender Victor Hedman played his second match after missing twelve games due to injury. The defender has already been selected for the Swedish Olympic team.
