He signed off the message with: "Your new neighbor".
Later on Monday, he played his first match with the star-studded Los Angeles Lakers when he started in the lineup with, for example, superstar LeBron James at home against Utah.
It's a dream come true, said the 25-year-old Doncic about getting to play with the 40-year-old James.
When it became known earlier in February that Doncic would leave Dallas Mavericks mid-season, it was described as one of the biggest transfers in NBA history. In exchange, Dallas got one of the USA's biggest stars, Anthony Davis.
The Slovenian's debut had been delayed due to an injury, but already during his first minute on the court, Doncic scored a three-pointer. He received standing ovations from the LA crowd several times and ended up with a total of 14 points, four assists, and five rebounds when the Lakers won 132–113.
