The strike at the Louvre has been called off. On Friday, employees at the museum in Paris voted against continuing the protest, union representatives told AFP.

The strike began on Monday by angry employees demanding better working conditions. They criticized, among other things, staff shortages and “general decay” at the art institution. The spectacular jewel theft from the museum two months ago is believed to have heightened tensions.

According to museum management, the museum will be open as usual today, Friday.
