Among the most traded stocks on the OMXS30 list, a majority of the companies rose.

Nibe Industrier, a heating system manufacturer, performed the best, rising 2.6 percent. Saab also performed strongly, up 1.7 percent.

Other companies that had a good day were the mining company Boliden and the game developer Evolution, up 1.5 and 1.4 percent, respectively.

On the other hand, companies such as the appliance manufacturer Electrolux fell 0.9 percent, and the medical technology company Getinge dropped 0.7 percent.

The leading European stock exchanges also rose, but the increase was not as large as in Stockholm.

Despite concerns on the world's stock exchanges, the Swedish krona has strengthened against both the dollar and the euro in recent days. However, on Friday, the krona lost some ground. Late in the afternoon, one dollar cost 10.51 kronor and one euro cost 11.49 kronor.
