The Stockholm Stock Exchange started the Christmas week weakly downward. The broad OMXS index fell 0.2 percent. The game developer Evolution was one of the major losers.

The Stock Market Started the Christmas Week Slightly Downward

The winners in the OMXS30 index included Real Estate Company SBB, which rose 5.8 percent after calming the market with statements about low risk of backlash in the dispute with bondholders in a London court.

Defense conglomerate Saab also rose after receiving a new robot order from the Defense Materiel Administration (FMV). The stock increased 3.9 percent.

Astra Zeneca went up 1.5 percent after the pharmaceutical giant received approval from the EU to use the drug Tagrisso for treating patients with inoperable EGFR-mutated lung cancer.

Construction company Skanska has taken an order worth 1.1 billion kronor in Maryland, USA, to renovate Johns Hopkins University's main library. The stock rose 0.7 percent.

The losers included primarily game developer Evolution, which plummeted over 10 percent after reports that British authorities are investigating the company's operations.

At closing, the trend was mixed on the leading European stock exchanges. Frankfurt and Paris fell, while the London Stock Exchange rose slightly.
