Less than two weeks ago, national team star Filippa Angeldahl became a parent.

She now hopes that her son can see her play a national team match at Friends Arena against Ireland.

On May 21st, midfielder Filippa Angeldahl and her partner Megan Brakes became parents to a boy, which the couple announced via social media. Six days later, the national team gathered for double EM qualification matches against Ireland.

Did you think about not going and staying home instead?

Sweden won against Ireland with a score of 3-0, and the teams will meet again at Friends Arena on Tuesday.

She looks forward to playing for her family and maybe her son can be there in some way at the national arena.

At the same time, Sweden won against Ireland, while France won against England (2-1). This means that the French women are leading the group with a maximum of nine points. Both Sweden and England have four points, but the Swedish women are second in the group due to a better goal difference. The top two teams will qualify directly for the EM in Switzerland next summer.

Filippa Angeldahl joined Manchester City in the fall of 2021. It was announced in the spring that she will leave the English club, but it has not been revealed where she will play next season.

Born: July 14, 1997.

Position: Midfielder.

Family: Partner Megan Brakes and a newborn son.

Clubs: Vaksala SK, Sirius, AIK, Hammarby, Linköping, Häcken, Manchester City.

International appearances/goals: 57/14.
